I had the opportunity to test this really cool product this month. It's called Ultima Replenisher and it's just what it sounds like- an electrolyte drink used to replenish lost electrolytes during running or other physical activity. I guess you could say I recently came into the market for something like this when I was looking for an alternative to Gatorade and Nuun (which I am not a big fan of, but that's a story for a different day). Ultima comes in powder form, either in individual serving size sticks or in canisters with a scoop. I was able to try each method, and definitely see the value in having both as options.
Now, you might be wondering what sets Ultima apart from other hydration drinks on the market. And had the same question! Let me quote from their website:
"Ultima contains a perfect balance of all 6 electrolytes plus support minerals that work together to provide complete hydration without stomach upset so you can feel and perform your best. Ultima is sweetened with stevia leaf and made with real fruit flavors that taste delicious. This formulation contains Vitamin C (Calcium Ascorbate) which supports a healthy immune system, protects the cells from oxidative stress and contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Calcium to support muscle contraction and nerve function. Phosphorus to deliver oxygen to muscles, Selenium as an antioxidant support, Zinc for recovery and neuron support, Magnesium for preventing muscle cramps, Potassium for cardiac muscle support, Sodium for muscle contraction and nerve function and Chloride for osmotic pressure support."
In short, Ultima provides essential electrolytes to help refuel your body quickly and reduce recovery time, especially after an especially hot run or a tough workout.

The two flavors I was given to try were the Raspberry in packet form and the Lemonade in canister form. I liked both, but especially enjoyed the Lemonade! The taste of these drinks is so incredibly smooth and almost tastes just like Kool-Aid. It's lightly sweetened with Stevia and I wouldn't say it is too sweet at all. I found myself using Ultima outside of just right after runs-- I found myself simply adding it to my water regularly just because it tasted so good! Now, I can't necessarily say I felt it reduced my recovery times specifically, because I am in my prime shape this time in the season and tend to bounce back from hard runs pretty quickly as is. But the science is there that it does definitely aid in this process quite a bit, and I don't doubt it.
The other thing that is a big pro for this product is its affordability. It packs a lot of punch for costing less than a dollar per serving. And, right now you can save 35% and get free shipping if you use the code BIBRAVE2016! Talk about a bargain!

This product gets my full approval as something that benefits endurance athletes who are looking to upgrade their hydration and refueling!
