Hey there! My name is Eric Blasius and I am a marathoner (I've waited so long to be able to say that!). I'm 30 years old and I live in Orlando, Florida. My passion is running; it's what makes me tick.
I've always been a runner. I started racing in high school, where I competed in Cross County and Track & Field. After high school, I continued running and participated in the occasional local 5K race. In 2014, I made it my New Year's resolution to run my very first marathon and set my sights on the 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. I wanted to make my first marathon extra memorable, so I decided to run on the American Cancer Society's (ACS) DetermiNation team. This gave me the opportunity to not only have extra resources in my training journey, but also allowed me to fundraise for ACS at the same time. I was able to do something that positively impacted my life while also raising funds to positively affect the lives of cancer patients at the same time. I'm so grateful to have found DetermiNation, because without the support of the staff and mentors, I would've had no idea what to expect or how to prepare for a marathon.
